The New Year has begun, and without any shadow of a doubt the resolutions you stood firmly by for at least 5 days are beginning to lose their sheen. Jogging every morning is compromised down to three times a week, and cutting carbohydrates completely is loosened to occasional incorporation of toast, bagels, crackers, cookies, biscuits, and cereal. Oh, and pancakes. But just because you have had several well-deserved slips, it does not mean that all is lost. There is still ample time to start anew, seeing as every single day presents the chance to do so. We have compiled a week-long diet plan in the spirit of starting over – you can pick up on day one any day of the week, and repeat as many times as you see fit. Just be sure to stick through all 7 days in order to begin seeing awesome results! And of course, don’t forget to incorporate a little daily exercise.

Repeat this diet plan for 7 consecutive days

 

Breakfast:

1 Divine Flaxseed Protein Shake (recipe below)

 

Snack:

Small handful of raw almonds OR a protein bar (choose your favorite, we love Pure Protein, Quest Bars, and Lara Bars)

 

Lunch:

4 oz. of chicken or fish over small green salad with a side of fresh veggies or fruit

 

Snack 2:

Divine Protein Shake (refer to our extensive list of recipes or simply mix with water)

Dinner:

Large green salad with oil & vinegar, 4-6 oz. lean protein (chicken, fish, or turkey)

 

Dessert:

Protein cookie, dessert bar, or brownie (check out our mouth-watering protein powder dessert recipes)

 

Divine Flaxseed Protein Shake Recipe:

1 frozen and peeled banana

1 cup diced pineapple (fresh or frozen)

1 cup frozen mango (Trader Joe’s has some great cubed mango in the freezer section) OR 1 fresh mango (medium)

2 (packed) cups of baby spinach

1 tbsp. ground flaxseed

1 tsp. extra-virgin coconut oil

2 scoops Divine Vanilla Protein Powder

½ cup coconut water

Blend all ingredients and enjoy as a metabolism-boosting way to start your day! If you don’t have ample time in the morning, be sure to prep for your breakfast before you go to bed. Store pre-chopped fruit in tupperware for easy access as you rush around to get ready for work or get the kids ready for school. Stick by the diet plan for all 7 days, and compliment with moderate exercise for the best results. If you get extra hungry during that 3 o’clock lull, snack down on an extra protein bar, an apple and almond butter, or some fresh veggies. Make wise choices and remember that it is never too late to start over!
